V6 Early Access on GameJolt!

The new version of the game is now on GameJolt! This update, which can be downloaded here, has given the game a definitive name - Control. The genre and game type have also been decided so bear with me as I fulfill my promise - I will make this work (I think).

Control is going to be a hide-and-seek style game based off of sound and sight. The AI will be able to detect you through either of these methods. You have to navigate the world to find weapons to survive and, ultimately, a computer. Using this computer will prevent more AI from spawning and stop the timer. When all of the AI are killed and the computer is disabled, you receive your pay. This will likely lead to multiple levels of game.

I also did a comparison between v3, v5 and v6 and made a video out of it, so check that out :D

I'll hopefully get round to a Mac and maybe Linux cross-platform for you strange, strange people out there.

The First Major Update - Learning v5

I finally finished the first major update! This entire project is my first, but once I finish balancing the audio in v6 I'll be able to focus on the main gameplay. The resources are from the community market but the music and speech are of my own creation.

You can download Learning v5 here (download link has changed). There is a video and a couple of pictures relevant to the new update below.

The game is set in more of a Twilight-feeling
lighting now.

This makes for some pretty nice images of the
horizon while I try and cover up the location
of the NPC.

The video below showcases the new audio and sexy, sexy lighting.

Although the patch notes are always in the zip file, I may as well post them here as well.

ADDED
-Fixed all zero of the previous bugs
-Added an audio introduction
-Added backing music
-Removed useless smoke particles
-Added a currently purposeless NPC - can you find him?
-Fixed certain collision issues that cropped up
-Simplified certain hitboxes
KNOWN BUGS
-The NPC is useless and, as it appears, textureless
-The NPC is a douche
-Audio balancing will be a priority in the next patch

A Bit About Myself

Hi, I'm Sean. I'm an aspiring game developer and I'm currently working on a (hopefully) large-ish scale project codenamed "Learning". It's a first-person-god-knows-what game which I'm using to learn the Unity engine. The project does use resources from the Unity Store since I'm on a low-spec PC and unable to make these effectively for myself.

It's still in an early version, which is made even more prominent since I first used the 3D editor around two hours ago. The game's direction, although unknown, may contain Zambies.

I'll try and keep this blog up to date on all the major updates and advancements as they come out, but I'm going away on Thursday so I'll be gone for a bit. Hope you enjoy what's already here, though! :D

You can download the game here.
